A season wrap up
The Roley Tigers are finished for the 2010 season and great results were portrayed both on and off the field. Whilst the 2010 season didn’t see the Tigers make it to the finals this hasn’t dampened the Tiger Spirit.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our Players, Trainers, Coaches, Committee Members, Volunteers and Sponsors without your efforts we would not have survived the season. This season saw new Sponsors come on board and support the club as well as loyal past Sponsors that remained on board for the 2010 season.
During the later part of the season the Senior Teams headed up to Springdale to train with the Under 17’s, this was a great night and was enjoyed by all, the favour was then returned with the senior team welcoming the juniors to Cross Park for a further training session. Thanks must go to Adam Casotti and Sam Saffioti for organising this and making it happen. We look forward to the 17’s moving up to the Senior Tigers next season.
The Tigers finished in the following spots on the WAAFL ladder for this season, 13th for League and 10th for Reserves in the D Grade. From Round 10 although the boys played with all their heart and spirit both teams failed to register a win until both teams turned this around in Round 13 where they had a win against Southern River. Despite the losses during the later part of the season, the boys remained in high spirits both on and off the field and although both teams didn’t finish the season where they would have liked to they finished off the 2010 season on a high note.
Congratulations to Sean Kenworthy who was awarded his 100 career games medal this season, and to Luke Darbyshire for being awarded the Anton Wickhem Medal.
We as a Club are looking forward to the Presentation evening on the 11th of September and the Grand Final/AGM on the 25th September.
We wish all the boys all the best for 2011 season.
